Lantau Cottage is let from Saturday to Saturday, keys are made available from 4.00pm onwards on the first day of your holiday and the property is to be vacated by 11.00am on the last day of your holiday. The whole property has a lovely olde worlde feel giving discerning guests a flavour of days long gone in this immaculately presented former 16th Century Ship Merchants' Cottage. Guests will appreciate the attention to detail.
KITCHEN/ DINER : The Kitchen has a range of fitted units and has an olde worlde feel with original 16th Century exposed beams and character walls. There is a cooker with a gas hob and electric fan oven/grill , microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, coffee maker & toaster as well as ample supply of cutlery, crockery and pots & pans. Beside the kitchen on a lower level is the dining area with a quality dining table and chairs for 8. There is a washing machine in the storage cupboard.
LOUNGE : The lounge again has an olde worlde feel with original 16th Century exposed beams and a feature original fireplace with wood burner. Quality furniture and soft furnishings including a comfortable settee and easy chairs for 8. Lots of character, the owners have not put a television in the lounge to compliment the character as the fireplace is the focus of attention. There are televisions in the bedrooms, if guests wish to bring a television down to the living room they can request this upon booking and the caretaker will arrange before your arrival. There is a CD and radio in the lounge. Lantau has been lovingly restored by the current owners over a number of years. The feature winding staircase incorporates an original full size ships' mast which adds to the other character features at the cottage.
FIRST FLOOR On the first floor there are two double bedroooms, one single bedroom and a family bathroom.
DOUBLE BEDROOM : The first double bedroom is large and very tastefully presented. It has an unusual floor to ceiling original feature fireplace, original 16th Century wood panelled walls, beams, 4ft 6" character brass bed, two bedside tables with lamps, bedroom easy chair, pictures, mirror, television and wardrobe.
DOUBLE BEDROOM : The second double bedroom is spacious and very tastefully presented with original 16th Century wood panelled walls, beams, 4ft 6" double bed, bedside tables, lamps, hanging space and drawers.
SINGLE BEDROOM : The first single bedroom is large and very tastefully presented. Original 16th Century wood panelled walls, beams, feature exposed original wall, a quality 3ft bed, bedside cabinet, television, lamp and hanging space.
FAMILY BATHROOM : The family bathroom is immaculately presented with character beams, quality walk-in power shower, cabinet, mirror, heated towel rail, wash basin and WC.
SECOND FLOOR : On the second floor there is the Master Bedroom with ensuite, a reading room and single bedroom.
MASTER DOUBLE BEDROOM : The Master Bedroom is very spacious and is immaculately presented with quality furnishing. It has a gabled beamed ceiling, 5ft antique pine double bed, antique stripped pine bedside units and matching double wardobe, bookcase, television, lamps and an easy chair. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in power shower with antique gold-effect fittings, character wash basin and WC. The reading room is unusual to say the least. It is accessible from the Master Bedroom and you have to climb 3 steps in the wall and then 3 steps down the other side of the hole in the wall to get to this characterful reading room which has a gabled ceiling, reading lamps, double aspect window and settee. A real getaway from it all room.
